What is the Speakers Bureau? The Speakers Bureau is a group of task force members that conduct public education on a regular basis about a variety of topics.
Who is Eligible to Request the Speakers Bureau? Law enforcement agencies; schools; universities/colleges, libraries; community groups; civic organizations; businesses, and; associations. The requesting organization must reside either within the task force's service area.
Is there a fee? No, having a speaker from the task force does not cost any money. Due to limited personnel and a high case load, repeated requests from the same organization may be denied. Each request is reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis depending on a variety of factors.
What Classes are Available? The task force has many classes that have already been developed and are available to teach. Classes are typically from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your needs. While we encourage the use of one of our previously designed courses, we may be able to custom design something if a need exists. Some of the classes include:
* Law Enforcement Only
How do I Apply? To apply for the Speakers Bureau to present for your organization, please complete the Speakers Bureau Request Form online by clicking here. Someone from the task force will contact you soon after your online application. Please note however that due to limited resources it may take some time before you are contacted about the class.
What is Needed from me? The task force speaker will generally bring a laptop computer and projector. All we ask of you is to provide a screen or a blank wall to project our presentation onto. Depending on the size of the group we may also ask for an audio connection for our computer as well as a microphone for the speaker. |
